Idea Contest for Students
Together for Sustainability
The Sino-Finnish Research Centre for Science, Technology and Innovation at University of Vaasa launched the idea contest ‘Together for Sustainability’ September 14, 2020. The contest aimed to encourage and promote collaboration between citizens/students in different countries in the pursuit of Sustainable Development.
The Contest Proposals included many fresh ideas and the quality of the work was very good! We sincerely Thank Everyone involved for your time, effort and readiness to share your ideas – for the benefit of our sustainable future!
The winning ideas are:
I prize (500 €)
Siyu Zhu, Qing Niu, Lihong Liu, Rong Guo. Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Website for companies to sell their production ‘waste’ for other companies’ use.
II prize 2 x (300€)
Zhou Xianzheng, Fang Zheng. Southwest Jiaotong University.
Concept for city bicycle parking – vertical use of space and digital information management.
Pablo Cisneros Chavira. University of Vaasa.
Craft Clubs for citizens using ‘waste’ and other surplus materials – selling locally and sharing ideas globally.
III prize 4 x (200€)
Lou Xingyu, Zou Huiyiling, Liu Minna. Southwest Jiaotong University.
Man-machine dialogue system and use of voice to guide the classification of garbage.
Qian Zhang. Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Plant a Tree for You -project – afforestation activities of citizens made possible by a consortium/union of environmental non-profit organizations and governments.
He Haochen. Southwest Jiaotong University – Leeds joint school.
Engaging citizens and (regional) governments in dialogue on concrete actions to cut down carbon dioxide – getting allowances for desired behaviours.
Ren Jiaqian. Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Green roofs and walls in urban renewal – international project (China-Finland) to share designs, concepts and exchange experience.
